From Emma’s Café to 31st Grill – A New Chapter in Salinas Dining

Eddie Estrada has been in the restaurant industry since he first moved to California. From his first job as a dishwasher to being the manager at Ellie’s Restaurant in Salinas, Eddie has worked in all aspects of the restaurant industry. This gave him the knowledge of what makes a venue successful. 

Emma’s Café – A Tribute to Family and Flavor

In 2021, Eddie opened Emma’s Café as an homage to his mother. Emma’s is a cozy spot known for homemade pastries, pies, and what many called the best cheeseburger in Salinas. Using organic, locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible, Emma’s quickly became a local favorite. But with limited seating and a small menu, customers kept asking for more.

31st Grill fulfills a bigger vision for Salinas

That demand inspired the creation of 31st Grill—a vibrant new venue where Eddie and his wife Miriam brought their full culinary vision to life. Located in downtown Salinas, 31st Grill offers creative California cuisine in a family-friendly setting.
